The Journey blog

Updated: Feb 19, 2019

Hi guys! Thanks for taking the time to read what is the first entry in The Journey blog. I have created this blog as a way to connect, to create a community in which to share my experiences of attempting to live a more conscious life. Hopefully you will also be inspired to share your experiences, to contribute your wisdom and together we can R I S E …..

From the outset I would like to state that this is safe space to share and I ask everyone to refrain from passing judgements or derogatory comments to others who have contributed towards the creation or content in this blog. I also ask that if you find yourself passing judgement, start by delving deeper within yourself and investigate where this judgement stems from. Through others we see ourselves....

My spiritual journey began in 2014 with what I would describe as a rapid awakening followed by the next 5 years of swinging between total alignment with purpose and crystal clear vision to blinding fog, as if wading through thick mud.

In late 2013 I moved to Hossegor, a small french surf village on the west coast of France, with my family. My husband worked abroad and at this point I had a 18 month old son and a 8 year old daughter. Moving to a new place and not knowing anyone meant I had a lot of alone time, time to get to know myself without the influence of others, of other peoples opinions, of following socially accepted norms.

During this time, in early 2014, I started reading books on hypnotherapy, I started using hypnosis as tool to combat my social anxiety and procrastination problems. I restarted my yoga practice and spent my nights meditating, delving deeper into my mind asking questions.. What was my purpose in life? Where did my social anxiety stem from? Why did I have this feeling of not being good enough? Where did these feelings of guilt and shame come from?

The answers to all these questions lie within, when your mind is open and you are ready to listen the internal teacher will appear. Trusting that internal voice of wisdom, that pushes you forward and out of your comfort zone may be a challenge, believing you are capable of anything you set your mind to may also be a challenge. But challenges are what make life interesting.....
